das pratersterndilemma
An area that has just lately been revived is going to be redesigned - the viennese railway station area Praterstern. Two taverns have been created there which were rather popular: the fluc (basically a pub) and its younger - yet bigger - sister, the fluc mensa (basically a concert hall). The loss of both venues is being mourned heavily all over the city. I, personally, could't care less, because i'm not that much into rundown places anyways. Yet i do have to announce a loss due to the reconstruction. my favorite bicycle repair shop which was exacly halfway inbetween above mentioned sites, is gone for good. and i have nowhere to turn to now should my bike need mending.
sure, there's veloce, which is basically round the corner from where i live, but let's face it, the service is bullshit.
i needed my backlight fixed last year and went there. they actually told me that there might be capacity to fix it in about four weeks and that i would have to leave my bikey at the shop for at least four days - realistically about a week - for them to fix it!
i went to the 'little shop at the praterstern'-guy and he said: ok, come back some day during the week, and then I can fix it for you within 30 minutes.
Dear reader: Has the 'little shop at the praterstern'-guy a new shop anywhere? Since i never bothered to find out his name or the shop's, pls. don't tell me to google it.
Or does anybody know a bike shop where they have a satisfying attitude towards customer service? Bikey and I will be grateful for any tips.
